HopeKids Ministry Project

HopeKids believes that giving kids with life-threatening illnesses hope in the form of continuous events builds strength and the willingness to fight for healing.  HopeKids provides children and their families with events and activities that make them feel special and gives them something to look forward to each month.  As these children and their families come together they learn that they are not alone and love, friendship and hope bloom. View their website.

You are invited to participate with the people of Spirit Song in projects led by Nenos, 602-460-6817. Projects are usually the last Saturday of each month. Check our calendar for each month's date and time.

Our May project, Saturday the 19th, is the helicopter shown above.

Where: Glendale Prep. on the Dove of the Desert UMC campus, 7201 West Beardsley Rd. Enter the church parking lot and turn right driving around the buildings. Look for posted signs directing you to the Hopekids project.

Read what parents had to say after previous projects on our testimonials page.

AmeriServ

We volunteer monthly with AmeriServ, a day program for adults with handicaps. Often our project is to work with the people building wood crafts. What delight the participants take in creating something with a little help. Join us in bringing variety and encouragement to this special group.

Check our calendar for the next AmeriServ project.

Peoria Neighborhood Revitalization

During the cooler months we participate with the Peoria Neighborhood Pride, a neighborhood revitalization project. Peoria identifies neighborhoods that need a little TLC either because the residents are unable or cannot afford the upkeep on their home. Peoria welcomes volunteers to help make property improvements. Painting the exterior of the home or spreading gravel are examples of the work we might do.

Watch our calendar for updates.

Maggie's Place - How you can help

Maggie's Place is a community that provides houses of hospitality for young expectant mothers who are alone or are living on the streets. Their mission is to provide a dignified and welcoming atmosphere which also challenges personal growth and promotes healthy living.

Michael House is one of the communities of Maggie's Place and is located in neighboring Glendale. There are many ways you can support this mission -- either by donating supplies such as food, clothing and household items, or by volunteering your time for a "work Saturday" or by helping cook meals. For a complete list of needed items, visit the Maggie's Place website.

Bill, Rhonda, and Nenos from Spirit Song worked on building three cabinets with drawers and fifty shelves! Thank you for your service!
