When we see someone in need, what good are empty words like, "Enjoy your day!" James reminds us that as people of faith we serve in response to God's grace and mercy in our lives.
James wrote to the early Christians with guidance on how to faithfully live the Chrsitian life in the middle of today's challenges.
So much around us is overwhelming and frightening. Yet, God prepared an armor of defense for us in his Word and his Spirit and we are invited to choose this protection and be strenghthened.
The ten little verses of Psalm 111 reveal three powerful traits of God. Do we see God as big enough for our needs or do we tend to box him in with low expectations?
Words. They love and encourage. They tear down and hurt. Do our words reveal our heart for following Jesus?
The people followed Jesus because he provided for them. Is that all there is to Jesus? What do we look for in our Lord and Savior?
It is easy to look at others as 'objects' to help us meet a goal. Yet, we should see the image of God.
Paul wrote that when he was weak, he was strong. It's when we lean into God that Christ's power rests on us. I want that! Don't you?
In Christ we have freedom from sin, death, unforgiveness, condemation, and more. Do we live like we're free?
Complaining is easy to do, but does it accomplish anything? The Apostle Paul models a better way.
